Tennis has been off the sporting calendar for months now, and it’s fair to say that it has begun to hurt a lot of fans. The lack of ability to watch elite WTA tennis stars lock horns on the court has been a gruelling one. That, though, is about to change with the introduction of an exhibition tennis event. This will be held in Charleston, USA, and will happen on the 23rd of June.
This event will see some very high-end players come back to the tennis court for the first time in months. Fans should be excited to see names like Eugenie Bouchard and Sofia Kenin take on each other in what should be a feisty encounter. Despite being billed as an exhibition, we would imagine that months of court-free activities for each player will leave them pretty desperate to go and win!
This event will be put on the Tennis Channel, and it’s been billed as the Credit One Bank Exhibition. It will see some other players take part, including the likes of Monica Puig, Victoria Azarenka, Sloane Stephens, Amanda Anisimova, Jennifer Brady, Danielle Collins, Leylah Fernandez, and Ajla Tomljanovic.
That’s a pretty crazy line-up and should make for an absolutely excellent appetiser for anyone who is missing their tennis too much. with some of the best players on the WTA circuit taking part, expect a hectic and enjoyable evening of tennis for all who are involved.
