Hungarian tennis fans will be excited to see the considerable progress of Anna Bondar. The 21-year-old has been in close to 40 ITF Finals already; an incredible tally for one so young. She has also managed to make a positive impression at several youth level tournaments, reaching the First Round of the French Open and Wimbledon at Junior level. She has already reached the Third Round of the US Open, doing so in all three tournaments in 2014.
So far, out of 37 ITF Tournaments at Singles and Doubles level, she has won an impressive 23 of those Finals. She finally broke into the Top 200 of the WTA Rankings in April 2019. Her first trophy win arrived as early as May 2014, when she won in Antalya, Turkey, against Olga Doroshina.
So far, she’s enjoyed several winning streaks at ITF level, including five trophies won in a row from May 2015-November 2015. There, she defeated impressive players such as Tena Lukas and Greet Minnen.
Her most recent ITF success came in January 2019 at Daytona Beach. There, she defeated Francoise Abanda. A step-up to WTA level feels in the offing for a consistent winner at ITF level.
